Coronavirus Protocol at the Hot Spot
Dear Hot Spot yogis,
I am sure you are all aware of the public health challenge we are facing with COVID-19 (coronavirus), and I wanted to give you an update on what measures we are taking at the studio to mitigate the spread of infection.
As you know, the yoga room and bathrooms are cleaned and disinfected after every class. In addition, we are following the recommendation of the Ulster County Health Department regarding enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, counter tops, etc.
We have excellent disinfectant for our rental mats, which are cleaned after every use; at this time we will still keep our rental mat system in place for those of you who wish to continue using it. However, you may want to consider purchasing your own mat; and make sure you always cover your rental mat with a towel.
If you use one of our blocks or straps, please leave it in the room after class so it can be disinfected.
We also ask all of you to follow the guidelines set out by the Ulster County Health Department, the New York State Health Department, and the CDC. Specifically:
Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
Cover coughs and sneezes with your sleeve or a disposable tissue
Please don't come to class if you are sick!
Thank you for your cooperation!
The silver lining is, a regular yoga practice keeps your immune system functioning in tip top shape! To learn more, see this study in the Journal of Behavior Medicine!
Much love,
Stephanie
